Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 3 August 2026
NoteDM has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page explains what that means in practice, what NoteDM does and does not do, how to report a concern, and who to contact.
In short
- • We do not permit, host, or facilitate CSAE content or activity in any form.
- • NoteDM does not let strangers message each other through the app — it automates a creator’s own replies to their own Instagram/YouTube audience.
- • Any account found using NoteDM to target, groom, or exploit a minor is terminated immediately and reported to the relevant platform and authorities.
- • To report a concern, email support@notedm.com — see below for what to include.
1. What NoteDM is (and isn’t)
NoteDM is a tool for creators and brands to automate replies and direct messages on their own Instagram and YouTube accounts — for example, replying to a comment on a reel and following up with a link. It operates entirely through Instagram’s and YouTube’s own official APIs, on content the creator already owns and controls.
NoteDM does not host user-generated content for public viewing, does not let one end-user browse or message another end-user through the app, and does not provide any chat, feed, or upload feature separate from the connected Instagram/YouTube account. Any content a creator’s automation sends or replies to is content that was already public (or already directed at that creator) on Instagram or YouTube, which each have their own content moderation and CSAE reporting systems.
2. Prohibited conduct
Regardless of how limited the surface area above is, the following is never permitted, and results in immediate account termination:
- Using NoteDM to contact, groom, solicit, or exploit a minor in any way.
- Using NoteDM to distribute, request, or link to CSAE material of any kind.
- Using NoteDM’s automation (auto-replies, DMs, or tracked links) to direct anyone toward CSAE content or a person seeking to exploit a minor.
- Any other use of the product in violation of applicable child-protection law.
3. How to report a concern
If you believe an account is using NoteDM in violation of this policy, or you’ve otherwise encountered CSAE content or behavior connected to NoteDM, email support@notedm.com with the subject line “Child safety report” and include, if you have it:
- The Instagram or YouTube account/username involved.
- Screenshots, links, or message content that show the concern.
- Approximately when it happened.
You don’t need an account with NoteDM to file a report, and reports can be made anonymously. We review every report we receive.
Because comments, DMs, and reels themselves live on Instagram and YouTube, please also report directly to those platforms — they can act on the content itself, which NoteDM cannot: use Instagram’s reporting tools or YouTube’s reporting tools.
4. What happens after a report
- We review the report promptly and, where NoteDM account activity is involved, suspend or terminate the account without delay while we investigate.
- We cooperate with law enforcement and, where relevant, with Instagram/Meta’s and YouTube/Google’s own trust & safety teams.
- Where we are legally required to report CSAE material to an authority (such as a national reporting body), we do so.
